Our Story
MK Atelier is a women's jewelry, shoe, and handbag boutique in Marietta, Georgia, specializing in Brazilian designer collections. Founded in 2021, we started with one idea: bring the best of Brazilian craftsmanship to women here, without the markup and the guesswork. What began as a jewelry brand has grown into a full boutique, 18k gold-plated jewelry, sterling silver, moissanite, women's shoes, handbags, and accessories.
Every piece is sourced from designers and small ateliers in Brazil, most of them family businesses that have been doing this for generations. We're not a warehouse. Everything on these racks was chosen by hand.
Meet the Founder
Michely Pacheco, the heart behind MK Atelier. Born in São Paulo, Brazil, Michely moved to Georgia in 2007 and opened MK Atelier in Marietta in 2021. She was a nurse first. The shift to design came from a simple frustration: the Brazilian jewelry and footwear she grew up around, made by people who had done it for generations, was almost impossible to find here. So she started importing it herself.
Today she travels back to Brazil to select pieces in person from Jorge Bischoff, Luiza Barcelos, Anna Prata, Herreira, Vicenza, and Rosana Bernardes, and designs her own namesake shoe and jewelry line alongside them. A wife and mother of three, Michely still greets most customers at the door of the Marietta store herself.
Why Brazil
Brazil is the largest footwear producer outside Asia, and the reason is older than the industry itself. German and Italian immigrants brought leather craft to the Vale dos Sinos valley in Rio Grande do Sul in the 1820s. The first shoe factory opened there in 1888. By the 1960s the region had specialized almost entirely in women's shoes, and it still holds that reputation today. That matters when you pick up a pair, Brazilian women's footwear is built on generations of leather work, with construction and fit you can feel against machine-made imports at the same price.
The jewelry tradition runs parallel. Brazil is one of the world's richest sources of colored gemstones, and the finishing work on 18k gold-plated and sterling silver pieces reflects that. We work directly with designers and small ateliers rather than wholesalers. Michely travels back to select pieces in person. It's slower, and it's the only way to know what you're actually buying.
